Event Messaging 101
At the start of each fiscal year, Dell leadership gathers its top teams to provide a state of the company and develop their plans for the year ahead at the Dell Worldwide Leadership Meeting. For FY17, the atmosphere was a little different in that the Dell and EMC teams were looking ahead to a merger of companies, and both would be represented at this event to learn about the path forward.
The communication and event teams had always relied on multiple vendor partners to bring the WWLM to life. Ballyhoo had been part of this larger team for several years, but this year, Dell decided it was time to unify the needs to a central point-of-contact so that visuals, messaging and overall meeting plans could be more centralized and therefore more efficient and strategic.
Event Production – Complete
Dell decided to tap Ballyhoo, as they had a long history of working together. Ballyhoo partnered with the communication leads at Dell’s PR agency, PPR Worldwide, to create the general session logistics plan, room design, messaging platform and visual story. From event and design production to executive presentation and graphic support to vendor management and budget oversight, the Ballyhoo team worked tirelessly with the internal and external Dell teams to create a seamless event for the senior leadership. To ensure the day-to-day planning was executed flawlessly, the Ballyhoo team traveled to Austin to support the Dell Worldwide Leadership Meeting.
Event Coverage – Successful
The Dell Worldwide Leadership Meeting was talked about as one of the best ever from look and feel to logistics management, adding more value to the long-term relationship between Dell and Ballyhoo. We were able to add this to our list of hundreds of successful projects we have partnered on with Dell.
