Rackspace decided they needed to simplify information and provide a unique way to educate and engage audiences. Their internal creative team developed 12 storylines for online marketing videos to be produced and distributed within a matter of weeks. The 12 scripts needed seven interwoven characters and 348 props that would be utilized in 63 individual scenes.
The Rackspace team needed extra arms and legs to pull off this momentous production. They have worked with Ballyhoo on hundreds of projects and knew whom to call.
Ballyhoo quickly enlisted the help of 28 crew members working in three different cities to accomplish the task of producing these online marketing videos within a matter of a few short weeks. Ballyhoo:
- worked with talent agencies to coordinate 23 talent auditions to find the perfect seven actors.
- researched and scouted the best props and created original pieces from scratch to ensure every scene was as realistic as possible while being shot in-studio and on location.
- developed detailed production schedules to be efficient and streamlined in order to meet the deadlines.
- also oversaw all of the editing so that the videos captured the client’s vision.

In the end, the online marketing videos were extremely well-received by the client and their audiences and were produced in such a way that they have a longevity that will allow them to be utilized in various ways in the future. The videos not only broke down the information in a way that was easy for everyone to digest but also captured the culture of Rackspace – a creative, intelligent, customer service-oriented company that is not afraid to poke some fun at themselves.
